Child Tormented To
Amuse You

By: E.E. Eppler, DS

An Iraqi traitor sold out to the aggressive American invaders. His treacherous collaboration harmed a number of his countrymen. They wanted to avenge themselves on him. Revenge is the usual practice in the Middle East.

The avengers were cruel cowards. They were unable or unwilling to directly attack the actual collaborator. He was protected by American gunmen. The Iraqi avengers attacked his helpless child instead. They horribly burned the little boy's face. Such attacks on the families of enemies are common practice in Iraq.

The American news media exploited the gruesome story for financial profit. CNN (alias "Cable News Network") saw the injured toddler as a potential gold mine. They called him Youssif. They concealed most of his true story. They concealed his family's identify. Americans want to think of themselves as good people, charitable and compassionate. It makes them feel good about themselves. It lets them ignore the truth of their misconducts.

CNN took advantage of the American invaders to bring disfigured Youssif to the United States. They made up a series of television shows. The shows exploited the little child. They showed him being "treated." The poor boy was subjected to a series of agonizing surgeries and to agonizing abuses. It entertained the American audience. The whole idea was to allow the American viewing audience to feel as if it was somehow helping the child. Actually he was being used and tormented as a way of entertaining the American public and making a profit for CNN.

The shameful exploitation continued for months. CNN even devised a scheme to add to its profits. It got the American suckers to donate money for the child's treatment. Medical experts were recruited to better dramatize Youssif's vicious butchery.

American audiences were lured into somehow feeling that it was all a good thing. They didn't hear the little boy crying and begging. The Americans were content to tell themselves that they were doing good.

Youssif as been victimized at every turn of his pathetic life. His family victimized him by collaborating with Bush's American aggressors. The Iraqis victimized him by burning his young face. CNN victimized him by turning him into a sideshow freak. We, the American people, victimized him by using him as a sitcom. We feel better. The child suffers. It's criminal any way you look at it. But it's the American way.
