Pennsylvania Parole
Is Worst In Country

By: Aaron

Recently completed studies confirm that the Pennsylvania parole system is the worst in America and the worst in the whole developed world.

Imprisonment is Pennsylvania's only growing industry. Part of that enslavement is the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. It's the worst in the country and the least effective. The purpose of parole is to fight crime, not by keeping former offenders in prison, but by helping to adjust him or her to a law-abiding life in the community.

As with too many things, Pennsylvania has lost it's focus. It's a dying state unable to cope with progress. It's slipped into the Republican ideology of money and reprisal. Duds like Ed Rendell simply highlight the impotence of Democratic reformers. Even the once helpful Pennsylvania Prison Society has sunk into a choir of collaborators and apologists. It's pathetic!

The Pennsylvania Parole Board is not simply impotent and vindictive, it's stupid. It's approach is to simply keep people in prison. Who needs a parole board to do that? Any prison guard would do. The Board makes crime much worse in Pennsylvania. People who eventually get out of prison are not guided, helped or encouraged to act lawfully. Instead, they are intensely resentful of the system and the public. They are MUCH more likely to commit more crimes. Every day a person spends in prison injures the whole society. The imprisoned person learns more criminal behaviors and becomes conditioned to be criminal. Prison is boot camp training for crime. The Pennsylvania Parole Board is the accomplice.
