One of the ways I've passed the time since I've been in prison
has been to do puzzles and word games. Mostly I do crossword
puzzles. They seem to keep the old mind a bit sharper.
Of course, there are many other kinds of "pencil-puzzles." Like many persons, I do a variety of pencil puzzles just to break up the ennui (a handy crossword word). One of the simplest kinds of puzzles is the word seek. That's what I'm offering here. Ordinary English words are displayed in a sometimes confusing matrix of letters. Each of the so-called target words is displayed in a straight line, but they may appear forwards, backwards, up, down or diagonally. The object of the puzzle is simply to cross-out, circle, or otherwise locate and mark as many of the target words as possible. Most work seek puzzles have a theme, cheeses, football terms, knitting, something like that. My word seek is just a tad different. It's prison-related. The 64 target words in the following list have some relationship to my home town - prison. Try it yourself. Wile away a few leisure moments
The solution to the puzzle is available here.
