The Word Detective
Puzzle
By: Countess Theta Lugosi

I'm offering the herewith word-search puzzle. It's a rather difficult, lengthy and complex puzzle. I didn't design it for cops, guards or other dullards. The puzzle relates to prison and prisoners, but it has a little "twist." The "twist" is that in this puzzle you don't get the list of hidden words. You have to be a "detective" and figure out the words for yourself from clues. The solution for each clue is a word which is found in the letter matrix which appears below. The word may be spelled forward, backward or diagonally as in any word-search puzzle.

To make it a little easier, each clue contains a statement of the number of letters in the solution. The letter count is expressed inside parentheses. The clue for a seven letter word will contain "(7)" to indicate the number of letters.

To make it even easier, each clue tells you in which of the puzzle's 15 sections the solution word begins. If a clue contains the expression "S/C," for example, the solution word starts in the far lower right hand section of the puzzle.

Where the solution is composed of more that one word, such as "LAUREL HIGHLANDS," the solution runs together without any spaces like "LAURELHIGHLANDS." All solutions contain at least four letters, but be warned that there are dozens of words in the puzzle such as GLOSS, SANDRA, LARDER, LOCK and so forth which are pure red herring. They have nothing to do with the solution. They have been included to mislead the unwary detective.

If you need help (which will likely be the case, donate a dollar to the website and I'll send you the list of words, or send two bucks and I'll send you the solution.

If you're able to solve the puzzle without assistance, send your answer to me. I'll send you your award.
