Republicans want things to stay as they are, not to change. They need the status quo. Change frightens them. If the Republicans get what they want there would be no progress. Tomorrow would be identical to today.
By contrast, the conservatives want it to be 1953. They feel insecure, unable to cope. They are frightened. They don't trust anything new or different. They don't trust people because they don't trust themselves. Republicans are a bit less frightened, but not much. They, too, don't trust change or new things. They need to feel that they're in control. They suspect that others are as foul, greedy and unethical as they are. If they lose control, they're frightened that others will do to them what they've been doing. One change the Republicans would like to see is a dictator or a king. They want one of their own, a rich aristocrat, to have absolute power. It's the aristocrat mentality. They want the rich to completely dominate the poor. They want a helpless under-class of, Hispanics, blacks, all the lowly laborers, dummies to follow orders. The Republicans want slaves, automatons, servants, dupes who will carry out their bidding. In all honesty, the Republicans aren't very nice folks. Their goal is to keep you down. Christianity is the religion of ignorance. It is the cult invented by the uneducated outcasts or Judaism. The one thing that Christianity has to offer is control. It keeps the masses in line. That's why the Republicans like it. The nonsense of Christian mythology doesn't bother them. It's attraction is that it requires conformity to authority figures. The republicans, the rich, are the authority figures. So, Christianity is the Republican religion.
Republicans bluster about the "American Way of Life." There is no such thing as an American Way of Life. American culture and the way Americans live changes very greatly over time. Technology, immigration, medical progress, world politics, among many other things, change how Americans live. The Republicans don't like that. They can't cope with the changes. They can't deal with new peoples and new systems and the common people in foreign lands (or here at home) demanding their share of the planet. Republicans want things to stay the same as they are today. Progress might undermine their power. Fox "News" or, really, Fox Lies, exists in order to keep people afraid of change, afraid of other people. Fox Lies is a distraction, a harp playing the melody of distrust and conformity. Fox is Republican state television. Its duty is to tell you how good it is to be enslaved and how bad it is not to obey the king. Americans like to hurt people. It's a strange, but pervasive national characteristic. Americans don't value individuals. Americans don't value life - except for their own. Americans need to look down on others. That makes them feel as if they are more important. Republicans capitalize on Americans' hatreds. By dividing the poor, by fragmenting the common people, the Republicans more easily cling to power. If the Republicans get what they want, their king will kindly let you pretend to have a voice while you obediently labor to keep them wealthy.
