I was the Director of Medical Records for Wexford Health Sources, at Dekalb County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia. I was subpoenaed to testify in a class aciton lawsuit against County Sheriff Sidney Dorsey and Medical Director, Doctor Roderick Edmond. Because of my truthful testimony about medical records I was suspended, slandered, humiliated and retaliated against through other employment opportunities. Ultimately, I was terminated. I have a bachelor of science degree and 15 years of medical records experience. Because of Wexford I'm still unemployed. If not for my family, I'd be homeless. I've lost everything of value tht I had. However, I still have my dignity and I'm proud of myself for telling the truth. I was asked to write a medical records proposal for Fulton County Jail under Sheriff Jacqueline Barrett also in Atlanta. However, she and her vendor stole it and wouldn't let me work there. I feel sorry for sheriffs like her and pray for them every day. However, it's the inmates who are suffering. I('ll continue my fight for adequate healthcare and confidentiality of inmate medical records. Believe the inmates. They are telling the truth about inadequate healthcare, police brutality and racial profiling. I now because it happened to me.
