The Pennsylvania Department Of Corrections operates several schemes to "treat" men who have been convicted of sexual offenses. The "programs" are a catechism which stem from the ridiculous religious dogma that sex is demonic and that the men convicted of sexual offenses are "sick."
Although there are several versions of the schemes, they all share some common features. All the "programs" focus on trying to convince the men that they are crazy and bad; you know, that they are possessed of demons. Pennsylvania's thinking is hardly out of the dark ages. I am a heretic for revealing the truth.
All of the schemes require that the men give information against themselves. The ploy is that, in order to be "cured" of their dread "disease," the men must incriminate themselves. It is not un-like the "re-education" classes run by the old Communist states to condition the participants into accepting a falsehood espoused by the state as a religious tenet.
A number of insidious tactics are used in order to sucker the men into giving evidence against themselves. Firstly, the prison administrators require the men to participate in the "programs" in order to earn "privileges" such as phone calls and the right to buy luxuries, and to "advance" in the prison custody levels.
More effective is the threat and punishment tactic. In order to be paroled, the man must participate in the self-flagellating programs. He must "admit" his guilt and be "cured," or cleansed of his sins, however you want to look at it. In real life, of course, men convicted of sexual offenses aren't paroled regardless of what demeaning and silly religious-psychological rituals they perform. Obviously, since sexual offenders really aren't any more "sick" than any other offenders, they can't be "cured."
As in the earlier inquisitions, it's nothing but a series of lies and political justifications.
Perhaps 25% of men who have been convicted of sexual offenses aren't guilty. Those men are required to lie. They must invent a story that is sexual enough to satisfy the half-educated quacks who operate as priests for the state's dogma.
Prisoners who have been convicted of sexual offenses must be warned that it is VERY dangerous for them to give information to the state under any circumstances. The government is ALWAYS the enemy of the individual. The Pennsylvania Department Of Corrections is in business for only one reason: to hurt people, specifically the prisoners. It is a serous blunder to believe that the government is benign or that it will "help" or do "good."
Anything and everything which a citizen reveals to the government can and will be used to harm the citizen. For prisoners, that means that everything that is told to the quacks during the "treatment" programs is going to be used to harm the man. Prison and prison programs NEVER benefit a prisoner. That is NEVER their real goal.
Prisoners must be warned not to incriminate themselves. Even attending some of the prison "programs" may be interpreted as an admission of guilt of one kind of another.
A group of fanatic Pennsylvania extremist politicians are now cooking up schemes which will keep sex offenders in prison even after they have served their cruel, long maximum sentences. These new laws will use the things which the convict reveals to the psychology quacks as evidence against the men to keep them locked up.
In January, Charles Nihart, a man convicted of rape, but probably not guilty, got a new trial after spending 10 years in prison. He had apparently participated in one or anther of the DOC's come-ons. The District Attorney wants the "admissions of guilt" that Mister Nihart supposedly gave to the DOC. The government will use the self-incrimination to punish the man with still more years of imprisonment. It's the American way!
PLEASE tell prisoners to NEVER GIVE A PRISON EMPLOYEE ANY SCRAP OF INFORMATION THAT HE DOES NOT WANT USED AGAINST HIM. Government is by far the worst criminal.
