| Former Attorney General Ernest "Ernie" Preate, Jr.,
deserves to have his license to practice law reinstated. We urge the Pennsylvania
Supreme Court to restore him to his profession.
If anyone can be said to be "rehabilitated,' it's Ernie. Since his release from custody he has worked unselfishly to benefit needy causes and to fight for justice. Although he was unable to practice law, he researched and composed the documents for the successful challenge of the constitutional amendment which emasculated the Pardons Board. In addition, he has helped many prisoners and prison causes. Whatever debt Ernie can be said to owe to society, he has certainly paid it. He's made the state and the community a little bit better and more hopeful place. It is appropriate that his license to practice law should be reinstated. He will be an asset to the bar and a friend to justice. |
