A Life In Prison,
My Friend
Daniel Reagan
By: OFG
This is not a biography, its a personal introduction. Allow me to introduce Daniel Reagan. He's my good friend and although I'm biased, I'll tell you a little about him.

Firstly, you'll get an idea about his character when I tell you that he is a loyal, faithful and thoughtful friend; not just to me, but to the many other people (mostly other prisoners) who know and respect him.

Daniel came to prison when he was just a boy, a mere 18 years old. He's grown up behind bars and now he's 50. Socially and culturally, prison life is just about all Daniel knows, but he's made more of himself.

He educated himself and became familiar with politics and geography, especially the vast reaches of Canada, Russia and China. His "freedom" is his mental explorations of open northern reaches. He's "traveled" with the wings of thought and learned the customs and peoples of a dozen foreign nations.

But Daniel is anything but dry and dull. He's made himself proficient at reading the Tarot and he's studied astrology. But the thing that Daniel's really good at is investing. I mean, this guy can pick stocks better than any pro I've ever seen! Personally, I think its some kind of psychic gift, he's a Scorpio, and you know, some of them have a kind of second-sight). Somehow he can spot a winner, a security that going to shoot up 80% in a few days. It's uncanny.

If its NASDAQ, Daniel's got it under his hat.

When he was a little younger, Daniel occupied himself lifting weights, running and body-building. He's still built like an athlete; slender, almost skinny, muscular, about 5'10", maybe a little thinning on top.

To Daniel's regret, he's never been married and has no children. Having been in prison since he was a boy, you can imagine just how few women he's ever known.

Only a few members of his family remain and after 32 years in prison, they've pretty much forgotten him. No matter, he's still looking, hoping for a woman and a future. Of course, he wonders if he'd even know how to treat a woman. His rough social life has been limited to coping with other convicts.

Like many prisoners, he's lonely. Often he feel helpless, hopeless and wasted. But he's healthy and active, clever and witty. He occupies himself with self-education and a little job in the prison kitchen which pays him a few pennies a day, not exactly something to retire on.

I've known Daniel for 20 years. I like him. If you knew him, you'd like him too. Perhaps you'd like to write to him or visit him. He'd love to hear from you, I'm sure. If you'd like, you can email and the website will get the message to him: Daniel Reagan. If you'd like to visit, he's at the State Correctional Institution at Smithfield. That's in Huntingdon in Central Pennsylvania, 30 miles from State College.

If you'd like to write, here's his address:

Daniel Reagan, AH 7338
P.O. Box 244
Graterford, PA 19426-0246

Send him a photo and ask him for his stock pick of the day. Write a few lines about yourself. He's a little shy. Tell him I sent you.
