Republicans Want Prisoners Fed Roadkill
Considering what the Republicans feed to the voters, prisoners may be lucky. They want to feed prisoners the road-kill scraped off the state's roads.
A Republican politician in Clarion County, a real humanitarian named Wagnor, David Wagnor, figures that the county, being a Conservative backwater, can't afford to pay the burdensome tab for feeding the county's few prisoners. They cost about the price of a "Big Mac" to feed for a whole day.
Republican Wagnor figures that his county can't afford about $2.50 a day to feed prisoners. In June 1996, he urged the "road-kill" solution: scrape up the cadaver, chop off the tire tracks and feed it to the jailbirds!
At this point Wagnor seems to want to exclude cats and dogs, skunks and careless pedestrians. If things work out as Republican Wagnor projects, hitchhikers and smaller casualties might be added to the prison diet later. He's particularly impressed with the potential for bear.
Next he'll set the county's excess of drunks loose in rickety pickups to run down unwary bruins which are unfortunate enough to be in the "road-kill-county."
