All the politicians seem to be able to think about is punishment. They don't seem to be able to use common sense. In their frenzy to extract yet another pound of flesh from "criminals," these politicians (almost all men) have put millions of Pennsylvania's women in danger of their lives.
In the torrent of new and ever more inhumane laws the legislature has passed many new sex laws. It's a mania! Sex obsesses these guys. All the new laws are bad and dangerous. One of the very worst ones gives men life sentences for sexual offenses such as rape.
What were the politicians thinking of? In their mania to punish, they've made the punishment for rape the same as for murder. Women are going to be killed because of these laws. Being raped would be horrible enough, but a woman can recover intact from it. Being murdered to silence a witness if far, far worse. A woman doesn't want to be raped, but she wants to be murdered even less.
This is one of the worst laws in the punishment blizzard that has possessed the unthinking men who have been rioting against "crime." They are like spoiled little boys who can't control their impulses to go to extremes.
Recently a brat of a judge in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, Michael "Knucklehead" Conahan, sentenced a man to 13 life sentences! Doesn't anyone have common sense anymore? The victim of the official excess was Doug Loomis. He had been convicted of a string of appalling rapes and sexual offenses. All his 13 victims lived. Why would the next rapist bother to leave live witnesses? Rape is bad. Death is worse. Maybe next time old Knucklehead will have a serial murderer to sentence will that make him happier?
