A Mother Accuses
The State Cops

By: Roberta Webster

We got the following email from Ms Pamela Fulger, a mother from Lock Haven. Like many ordinary citizens, she's gotten a taste of the truth about State Cops. It isn't a pretty picture! We have reason to believe that the Pennsylvania State Police are among the worst organized crime gangs in the nation; legalized, brutal and arrogant. We need cops to watch the cops!

"I'm writing for my son, Jeremy Newman. He has been in jail in Northumberland County prison now since August 1997. He was recently sentenced to 16-72 months [in state prison] for possession of a controlled substance and [a] weapon (pocket knife). He will be sent to [SCI] Camp Hill for processing. The powers-that-be recommended him for the boot camp program.

[Jeremy] "was entrapped and [then] beaten upon apprehension. The Pennsylvania State Police set him up by using an informant to call my son's cell phone number. The State Police set up a buy [of drugs to occur] on school property. Upon pulling onto the school [property,] 4 state troopers drew [their] arms and pulled the driver and my son (sitting on the passenger's side [of the] backseat from the car and began beating [those] 2 of the 4 who were in the car.

"None of the other occupants of the car were charged with any[thing], just my son. He was refused medical attention upon being taken to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury, PA.

"I spoke with one of the arresting officers at the preliminary hearing. He* told me to report [the beating] as he had his rear covered. I spoke with a local attorney concerning this matter and he knew of 2 other cases where State Police have used unnecessary force and in fact, beaten up the persons.

"Please help me with my son! This is so unfair! The police are supposed to protect us, not harm our children."

*Ms Fulger didn't give us the cop's name. We'd surely like to warn you about him, and to ask chief-cop "Colonel" Paul Evanko if he's proud of thugs like this. Maybe you'd like to ask him, if you can stomach it: 1800 Elmerton Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17110, 717-783-5556.

Ms Fulger has not authorized us to publish her address, but if you'd like to write to her, you may send it through us and we'll forward it to her.
