Poor Brucie's Still Trembling
Guards Continue Effort to Hide
By: The Shy Virgins

Bruce Facer apparently hasn't gotten any more brave since he and others first filed suit against us in 2001. We wanted to republish the official list of prison guards and parole agents which the state prepares each month pursuant to the Pennsylvania Administrative Code of 1929, Section 614 (71 PS 234). Facer and a few others said they were afraid. They wanted the Commonwealth Court to censor us and your right to know.

We wrote about Bruce and the suit some time ago. Since then, things have gotten bad for our adversaries. Some of the Plaintiffs got fired, moved and retired. They had to cook up an amended complaint. Now they are down to only two guards who are scared of having the official list republished, Bruce E. Facer a guard at the Frackville state prison and a soft-spoken pleasant guard from the Camp Hill prison, LeRoy Robinson.

At a hearing, Mr. Robinson didn't seem nearly as frightened as Facer. In fact, he seemed to be one of those rare guards who is almost reasonable and rational. It's unclear who pressured him into joining the suit.

By contrast, Facer wants to hide. He really didn't like the fact that we've published news reports about this suit which identify him (and others) and that we've published links to a few online search services which provide everything from addresses and maps to social security numbers and credit reports.

Facer had worked in the hole at Camp Hill. It was safe there, all the prisoners were almost always locked in their little cells. He transferred to Frackville. It was closer to his home. More to the point, the staff at Frackville shares more of his personality traits (talk about birds of a feather!).

Even in the protected confines of the Frackville prison, Mr. Facer is employed where the prisoners are locked in their cells for all but 5 hours a week and where he can be armed with a billy club. After Facer transferred to Frackville, our co-founder, George Feigley, was forced to transfer there. We're sure it was just an innocent coincidence.

Almost at once our co-founder was subjected to a pattern of harassment and retaliation. We're sure it was just a coincidence having nothing to do with the disgruntled Mr. Facer. It just reflects the unhealthy personality of the Frackville guard force.

The original suit pretended that we were invading the guards' privacy. At the more recent hearing, the claims changed. Now the Brucie-bunch asserts that they're afraid of "identity theft." Who, we wonder, would want to steal Bruce Facer's identity? That, it seems to us, is really stretching credibility.

Besides the two prison guards, there are two parole agents from Philadelphia who are part of the suit against us. Phil Formicola, a nasty and aggressive type who seemed to claim to have circulated lies about our website, and Philip Carroll who likes to play dress-up and look like a Nazi SS functionary. Both of these guys seemed pretty frightened and said they work inside a halfway house. It's pretty safe there.

Until the recent hearing when our Publisher, Sandra Feigley, tried to interview Formicola et al., we haven't been much interested in parole agents. Now it's clear to us how pugnacious, combative, self-important and unreliable agents can be. It's no wonder that men find it difficult to kiss ass enough to stay on the agent's good side.

We wish no harm to Brucie or the others. We don't want to frighten them. What we do want is for you, the public to realize how much these people cost you and what sort of folks we taxpayers are employing.
