Extremist right-wing regimes have usually shared many common characteristics. George W. Bush and his political cronies, the Bushites, are no exception. They have political principles which are far to the right and way outside America's traditional political value system. George Bush regards himself as a monarch, an absolute ruler, George I, above the law and in charge of your mind and what you're allowed to think.
In that way and in other ways, he's like former political extremists. Seventy years ago the "free world" of Western Europe and America fought the Second World War against right wing extremists. Those enemies of our civil liberties were, in most ways, far worse than the Bushites, but there are alarming parallels. The Bushites and the Nazis/Fascists of the 1930s and 40s had differences, too. For one thing, the Nazis were primarily a foreign enemy, an un-American threat. The Bushites are an enemy-within, as insidious as a brain tumor. Another big difference between Bushites and Nazis is money. Nazis weren't nearly as intoxicated by money as the Bushites are. A Bushite will do anything for a buck. He/she can be bought by almost any lobbyist. Bushites sell their principles pretty cheaply. The Nazis were more fanatic and idealistic. A Bushite can't be accused of being idealistic. The Bushites use Christian religion more than earlier Nazis did. The Nazis used other mythologies, especially the occult, mostly to pretend that their dogma was divine and ancient. The Bushites use Christian mythology as a weapon, a tool of oppression. Of course, they too want their dogma to appear godly, like the papal crusades, killing for God.
Another Bushite religious weapon is so-called "intelligent design." The Bushites need that absurd religious mythology to keep their dim-witted minions happily in line. Blame it on God. Conservatives and Republicans get angry where persons recognize the many similarities between Bushites and earlier Nazis. Certainly it's correct that the Bushites aren't yet nearly as deadly or as bad as the German, Italian and Japanese extremists we fought during the Second World War. It is also true, however, that the Republicans learned a lot from those enemies. They adopted a lot of their tactics, doctrine and lies. One of the biggest was using fear to manipulate the common people. Another was having a hate-object upon whom to blame things. A hate-object is a group for the people to hate and fear. Such a group may be the Jews or Moslems or Hispanics or fags. It helps to give them a catchy moniker such as "TERRORTSTS!" Perhaps the most alarming thing about the similarities between the Nazis and the Bushites is how many Americans have bought into their doctrine. It's frightening to realize how many people are cowards, willing to trade their independent liberty for a master and "security." It's bizarre to imagine George I as a benevolent dictator. Of a truth, he's evil. Any knowledgeable person already sees some of the striking parallels between the history of oppression and the Bushites. I've taken the time to enumerate a few of the most obvious similarities in the following chart. There are many others that I haven't listed.
