My son has been in the prison hole now for over four years. He
should really be in a hospital. He's autistic and I was told
by James Thomas of the Pennsylvania Department of
Corrections ("DOC") "we don't know what to do with him!"
He's tried suicide over a hundred times and he beats his head against the wall. DOC doesn't help. Persons with autism want to be alone. They don't want to be touched. Every touch is pain. As a result, he gets more charges because the prison guards "need" to touch him. He was raped at the Camp Hill prison upon intake on the Mental Health Unit. He's also been raped at other places. No one cares. Craig was deposed by the Attorney General. Craig told him about the rapes and beatings. The guards beat him at Graterford, Frackville, Waymart, Camp Hill and Pittsburgh. Our top law enforcement officer said nothing! A federal suit has been filed and the judge appointed a lawyer. But what can be done about his illegal original conviction? The only reason that he's in prison is because he had no lawyer and didn't know what he was doing. I'm his legal guardian and I wasn't even consulted. He's been institutionalized for 19 of his 25 years. He needs treatment not the torture he's received for years from Pennsylvania prisons.
