I'm engaged to an inmate at the state prison at Houtzdale in
central Pennsylvania. I've been writing and seeing this gentleman
for 4 years now. The day he's released, we'll be married. I
just want to comment on our wonderful justice system.
My fiance has information showing that he's innocent of the crime of which he was convicted. He's been incarcerated for 17 years on a sentence of 9 to 30 years. Of course, each time he's been up for parole, he's been turned down. He has an appeal in now. I'm praying his case gets heard again. I said all that to say, when we have family members thrown in prison, don't abandon them! They need our support. Just because they are locked down doesn't mean that they have to be left to feel as if they have no one. If you have a loved one who's incarcerated, please, please stay in touch and visit even if it means you have to stay somewhere for a weekend. Our loved ones are worth it. I live in Lancaster, PA and I've traveled to Pittsburgh several times. I had to stay over the weekend just to see my fiance. Thank God we are closer now, but I would do it over again a hundred times just to let him know that I'm there for him. The prison system sends them so far away just so we can't visit. Don't let them do that to you and your loved one. Stay in touch and visit. You are welcome to use or republish
any of our material.
