Republicans love imprisonment. Republicans love enslavement.
They can't stand it when a person escapes from bondage. They want Mexico to remain one vast prison. As soon as it can be arranged, the Republicans want the United States to be one great prison, too.
Mexico has a nasty habit of involving ordinary citizens in the government of that storied land. America's Republicans hate that. They look down on Mexico as inferior. They look down on ordinary citizens as inferior. They look down on democracy as interfering with their wealth, power and exploitation. Andres Obrador is a Mexican champion of the common man and of democracy. His view is that government should represent and serve the people. It shouldn't just kowtow to the rich, the landowners, the big business aristocrats and the agents of American corporations. America's Republicans hate such liberal politics. It made Mr. Obrador an enemy of the Republicans in the United States.
American propaganda hides the fact that, after Canada, Mexico is our largest source of foreign oil. For generations American big business has manipulated Mexican oil. It has done the same with all the other valuables exported from Mexico to the United States. American big business has long exploited Mexico. It used to do the same to Venezuela and to Cuba and to many other nations. To properly rape a foreign country American big business needs puppet "presidents" who will play ball and do business on US terms. American big business can't be troubled with democracies were the people and the workers demand to be treated fairly and with respect.
Bush's CIA and Bush's Republican party fixed the Mexican election. How could they put up with a "Zorro" helping the common people? They didn't really care much about Felipe Calderon, the figurehead who won the election. They cared about keeping the Mexican people and Andres Obrador out of power. The ordinary people object to being screwed over. Bush is a bully who knows no other way except to bully. Future generations will look back to this sad era. Future generations will mourn the death of democracy in America. They will mourn the way the budding Mexican democracy was crushed by Republicans and the CIA.
