Suppose you're a Republican politician.
That means you're a
hypocrite, a liar, greedy and domineering; the kind of guy who
lies in order to start wars, kill tens of thousands of innocent
people and occupy countries while criticizing other nations for
doing far less.
Now suppose you're just a small-time Republican politician: the mayor of Spokane, Washington. You pretend to be a Christian crazy (or maybe you really are one of that pathetic ilk). You enjoy visits from angels and divine insight. You preach against the "evils" that engulf the Christian mythology. But what are the greatest evils to obsess Christian delusions? To the Christian crazies the worst thing is the world isn't agony or illness. It isn't poverty, cancer, oppression or violence. To the Christian crazy and so, to the Republican hypocrite, the worst thing in the world is guys kissing each other! Even worse, it's guys loving one another and getting married. Where could a decent person get the filthy idea of loving one another? All good Christian crazies know that it's got to be stopped. James "Nice Hinny" West is/was the mayor of Spokane. He's also a Republican politician, a hypocrite. Nice Hinny is queer, no big deal in that and certainly nothing to be ashamed of - unless you're a Republican hypocrite. Mayor West not only pretended that he wasn't a fairy, he very actively politiced against homosexuals and their rights. All the while Mayor West frequented gay.com apparently seeking boys and men for sex. That's where a newspaper investigator found him. The Mayor used an alias, of course, but he quickly got involved with the investigator. The investigator masqueraded as a temptingly tender 17 year-old boy looking for that special kind of love. Mayor Jim seems to have figured that 17 was a great age for homosexual seduction. Other men have now accused the Republican hypocrite of molesting them when they were children, but the statute of limitations has expired. Nobody in Republican Washington state wants to prosecute a Republican with a hankering for lads. Some victims accuse the Mayor of buying sex with city jobs and of sexual harassment. We don't care what a person's sexual preferences are. That's their business. We aren't Republican hypocrites and aren't interested one way or another about a mayor's sexual tastes. We do detest hypocrisy, however, and the nonsensical mythology which fosters such bigotry. Frankly, James West isn't important to us, but his dishonest Republican hypocrisy is a vivid example of his ilk. Sad to say, America is teeming with hypocrites, Christian crazies and Republicans. It's a plague of Biblical dimensions. I have no doubt that a few Republicans are sincerely honest persons, but they're far outnumbered by the Jim Wests. Some Christians may actually believe their mythology no matter how far-fetched it is. (But I wonder if they'd buy it if their daughter arrived home with the story that she was pregnant from an angel tooting his trumpet in her ear.) Everyone is entitled to their own bunk, but don't force it on me. We abhor the practice of treating persons, any persons, badly in order to reap political benefit. We believe in the freedom to do whatever one pleases so long as no one is harmed.
