My Journey Has Begun

Lost in mind, alone again
Trapped in time, serving my sin
Screams of madness
Echoing down the hall
Such a cold world built with concrete walls
Inhaling hate, exhaling fear
Can't find fate, death's waiting here
Negative verses positive
A battle I must defeat
Must continue to live, to stay on my feet
I face the sun to light my path
To defeat the beast,
For my journey has just begun.

I Cried My Last Tear

Oppressed on every side in every way
Pain in my heart falls, rain drops on a cloudy day
Lost inside my yesterday,
Visions of laughter, if only I can escape this maze of rage
Yesterday flew like streams through my mind
Deep waters waiting to turn back the hands of time
What will I do about my yesterdays?
My tears stain the ground and I wipe my face
Cause I'm searching and waiting for
God's amazing grace
To quiet the storm and still the waves
Of my yesterdays
But, my flesh wants to stay lost
Where lost souls play
So, what can I say about my yesterdays? I've cried my last tear yesterday
Because Jesus Christ paved the way
And Washed all my sins away.

I Am

I am but an alien
To this time and space,
But the power of the pen
I do embrace.

I tickle your mind
With the tip of my tongue
And speak from the heart
Leaving nothing undone

I listen with my eyes
And touch you with my chains
But I don't point with my fingers
At the ends of my arms.

But there's one thing you must know
Before you make this crucial selection
My feet are pointed
In the right direction.

Keep Your Distance

For over a decade I worshiped speed
The white rock took my family, soul and belongings.
I couldn't make it as a poor man stealing,
Dealers prey on us weak and will trade speed
For our rent, our ride, even our wedding ring.
My high, my escape was shortlived.
There's got to be another way to reach the sky.
One hit too many...a thousand ain't never enough
Reach deep inside, let go, let God.
Through God's grace, you'll see him eye-to-eye.
If you haven't smoked crystal meth lately,
You've done your delusional
Disordered mind a tremendous thing.
Please put that pipe and lighter down
The Lord's our lighthouse savior, strength
And Soaring wings!

You Only Need to Pray

Meet God in the morning
And go with Him through the day
He'll lift you high and carry you,
You only need to pray.
When daily strife surrounds you,
And troubles won't stay at bay,
Turn to our Heavenly Father,
You only need to pray.
Ask our Lord to guide you
And He will show the way.
The shepherd will watch His flock
You only need to pray
Listen to God in the silence
When you come to the end of the day
Tomorrow is full of promise
You only need to pray!

Old School

Remember, Brothers,
Back in the day,
We lived, we loved,
We Had the way.

Our parents raised us
With honor and pride.
Our brothers and sisters
Stood side by side.

God made us all,
Woman and man,
And blessed us all
With His hands.

When we leave this world,
To go to another place,
And sit beside His throne,
Blessed with His grace!

No matter what the race
Or religion you be.
In His Kingdom,
We all will be!
