Republican Jim Lynch
Charged

By: Joanne Fainie

James (alias "Jim") Lynch is a nobody Pennsylvania state legislator. He's a Republican. We all know what that means. "Republican" is the political code word for the worst qualities in the political psyche: bullying, violence, dishonesty; just think "George Bush" or street thug.

James (alias "Jim") Lynch is from the Republican backwater of Warren in the northern part of the state. He's hardly worth a notice except he recently threw a tantrum and vandalized some property. He destroyed the maple sugaring buckets hanging on some trees at the town's principal employer, the state mental hospital.

One of James (alias "Jim") Lynch's numerous political foes, David Bauer, had hung the buckets to collect sap. When the Republican politician discovered the buckets' owner, he flew into a snit and wrecked things. The victim, Mr. Bauer, wanted the legislator charged with agricultural vandalism which seems to make sense. Of course, this was in a Republican fen where "justice" means "get the little guy!"

Months later, Alias Jim was only charged with criminal mischief, a trivial summary offense. The pat on the political wrist was thanks to the Republican Attorney General.

Republican state legislator "Jim's" real vandalism is what he's involved in politically in Harrisburg.
