has announced that she has undertaken a qualitative study on "trace detection technology" and false positive results. The study will greatly benefit the general public and the commercial transportation industry.

Doctor Lumas explains that the 1991 Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act requires testing of drivers for the use of drugs and alcohol. Some jurisdictions are using the act to justify testing with the drug scanning gadgets like those used on visitors entering prisons. She seeks persons who have never used drugs, especially truck drivers, but who have tested positive on the gadget, to participate in her study. Each volunteer will complete an anonymous questionnaire about the effects of false positive test results and receive a $15 fee for their time.

We encourage you to contact Dr. Lumas and arrange to participate in the study if you've been victimized by a false positive result with an "ion scanner."
