For several years Ernie Preate has lobbied in an effort to help prisoners, lifers and the public. He's worked effectively to influence political leaders to improve and humanize the criminal rehabilitation system. More than anyone in recent history, Mr. Preate has effected changes in attitudes toward prisoners and prisons. He's actually started to make meaningful change.
Ernie Preate is a lawyer and a former Attorney General of Pennsylvania. He knows what has to be done to produce improvements in the system. But lobbying is very costly. Thousands of dollars are quickly absorbed by the political machine. To partly support Mr. Preate's substantial expenses, a coalition of supporters has been formed. These persons and groups contribute money which is dispersed solely for lobbying to aid prisoners. About $20,000 is needed. We strongly urge you to contribute to the coalition. Individuals can contribute as little as $20 and groups as little as $500. Prison lifers' organizations and prisoners' social organizations are urged to contribute generously to the fund. Do some real good for your members. Religious, civic, reform and political groups "on the streets" are urged to join in the effort. Help to make a change in our society!
