Richard Nixon has not been the only Republican crook to buy his way into the White House. Before him there was Warren G. Harding (1865-1923, served 1921-1923). He was an oil racketeer and seems to have been murdered by his wife and/or others. Following Nixon, but not nearly as clever is George W. Bush, a person foul on many levels. Because he's dumb as cow droppings, mentally damaged from years of drug and alcohol abuse, Mr. Bush isn't competent to manage his own gang. He spends most of his time on "vacation." The Bush gang is really a corporation of crime: big oil, conservative extremists, big business, Christian crazies and imperialistic fanatics. Richard "Dick" (sometimes "dickhead") Cheney is the chairman of the board. Neither he or the Bush mob has any interest in America or in the American people. Their sole focus is money and power for themselves and their cronies. "Dick" (perhaps it's more respectful to call his penis) Cheney wanted to start a war. He worked for a big oil company, Halliburton. A nice war with Iraq would mean billions in added profits and lots of oil exploration to make the company and the Bush gang richer. Killing a few hundred thousand people is perfectly acceptable if it makes the rich richer. In order to justify the war Vice (and I do mean vice President Cheney lied. He had everybody in the mob lie, even suckering in Colin Powell, an oreo not known for his political savvy. General Powell was Secretary of State before Cat Woman took over, but he was never a full fledged member of the Bush syndicate - too honest. The Republican barrage of lies centered on the pretext that oil-rich Iraq was overflowing with nuclear weapons which were on the verge of being paddled across the ocean on donkeys to endanger Kansas and other dimwitted conservative strongholds. And it wasn't just phantom nukes that Iraq had. The Republican lie was that there were germs. Not-very-savvy Mr. Powell was even given a vial of white powder to show at the United Nations and pretended it was anthrax. They didn't believe him. The saps in Kansas believed the lie. What can you expect? For good measure, the Republican lie barrage also claimed that Iraq had so-called "chemical weapons." It was never clear what the chemicals were supposed to be, maybe gas of some kind or Feminine Deodorant Spray, who knows. The best bet was that the Republicans were talking about tear gas. Everybody realized that the Bush gang was lying, but most Democrats were too cowardly to speak up. One thing about the modern Democratic party, it's utterly gutless and without an agenda to do any good. Along came Joseph Wilson, a thoughtful and truthful diplomat. Ambassador Wilson said "bunk!" He pointed out the lie and had the nerve that the Democrats lacked. He opposed the war. The Bush gang couldn't have that - somebody telling the truth was not part of their game plan. They hadn't even considered it. Mr. Cheney and Karl Rove, minister of harm for the crime corporation, realized that they couldn't just kill Mr. Wilson no matter how appealing that was. They realized that they had to shut him up. Mr. Rove insisted that they pay him back for telling the truth. Karl Rove strongly advocated revenge. Why not kill his wife? Better yet, why not get someone else to kill his wife? That would show him! Since Mrs. Wilson was a CIA agent, the hit was cooked up to use foreign governments. The Cheney/Rove axis contrived to expose the fact that the woman was CIA. They hoped that someone would murder her. They fed the story to willing media collaborators (like Bob Kovac) through middlemen such as Mr. Cheney's buddy Lewis Libby. He's called "Scooter" because it sounds less threatening than "rattlesnake." Mrs. Wilson (she uses the name Valerie Plame was a tad miffed that she'd been put in an assassin's crosshairs by the Cheney/Rove dynamic duo. She complained. For two years there was what passed for an investigation. With extremist Republicans in charge of very branch of goverment (isn't that what happened in Nazi Germany, too) there was little chance of really getting to the truth. A special prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, spent a lot of money and pretended to gather facts. In the end, it appears that the Bush mob got to Mr. Fitzgerald. None of the real culprits were caught. With Mr. Fitzgerald's help, the crime corporation sacrificed the lowly Lewis Libby while protecting the major crooks, Karl Rove, Richard Cheney and George Bush. You must give it to the Republicans for their well orchestrated villainy. While the Valerie Plame scandal was brewing, wellpaid Republican propagandists (such as the Fox "News" channel) diverted the public's attention. They got very upset when the mother of a killed Iraqi war victim campaigned to end the war, but they called her names and waved red herrings. The religious wing preached murder while the slippery politicians played the Supreme Court judges game. Can you imagine a man like Samuel Alito goose-steping to the Supreme Court! At all times and in all ways, the conservative Republicans are our enemies. When the Joe McCarthys of the Republican party start bellowing about how much danger we're in, don't you believe it! Republicans are liars and crooks.
