For several years an old prisoner at the barbaric state prison
at Frackville in East-central
Pennsylvania suffered from serious health problems, heart disease
and lung disease, along with other significant medical maladies.
He should have been released. He had only a few months left to
serve on a sentence of draconian length. Instead, he was subjected
to continual torment and life threatening abuses.
After the prisoner (we'll call him "OFG") complained about his medical treatment, Vicki Stanisefski, the aging nurse in charge of prison medical abuses, schemed to get rid of him. Regardless of personal preferences, she couldn't very well just kill him off. He had friends in the community. Not to worry, OFG also had enemies in high places in the Pennsylvania Department of Imprisonment. The barbaric Jeffrey Beard, commissar of imprisonment, held a personal and vicious hatred for OFG. Even though the prisoner was old, frail and had just half a year left on his long sentence, the alcoholic, commissar Beard forced OFG through the stress of a lengthy journey across Pennsylvania's primitively bad highways. He was trucked in chains to Laurel Highlands, the prison hospital near Somerset in the Southwestern part of the state. To Jeffrey's and Vicki's chagrin, the old man survived his ordeal. Once in the Laurel Highlands prison hospital, OFG made the same mistake make by many prisoners and their families. He figured that he'd simply try to skate quietly through the last few months of his imprisonment. He resolved to cause no trouble, to keep a low profile. His defective reasoning was that he'd let the staff alone and they'd let him alone. - WRONG! Pennsylvania prison guards suffer from a tragic infirmity. No matter where they are, no matter if their victims are patients or prisoners, Pennsylvania prison guards are abusive, egomaniacal, bullies. The guards at the Laurel Highlands hospital were no exception. The medical staff seemed to be competent and sincerely concerned, but the guards (and there are hundreds of them at Laurel Highlands) are fodder for the septic system! OFG did his best to stay out of sight and to let the staff alone. His hope was that they would leave him alone. They wouldn't! OFG was subjected to every kind of harassment and torment. The guards were aragonite, overbearing, cowardly and abusive. Every week when his wife visited, she was subjected to harassment, intrusion and indignity. She had to struggle to get in at all. Once in, she was even badgered about her skirt! The truth is that prison guards are, by nature, inferior persons. Most of them have more or less profound personality defects and psychological abnormalities. The problem is greatly compounded by the fact that once a person takes employment as a prison guard, he or she adopts the behavior patterns of abuse and bullying endemic to their ranks. Indeed, commissar Jeffrey Beard has his minions specially trained to be not simply incompetent, but also frightened and abusive. In Pennsylvania prison guards start off as trash and then are fermented into trash with gulls on it. The point here is this, if you must visit Pennsylvania prisons or you must associate with prison guards, be aware that they're shit-on-your-boots!
