Drug users are victims, not criminals even if they are only victims of their own bad sense. Alcohol is by far the worst drug in common use because it so greatly endangers the innocent bystanders who have sense enough to stay away from it. Tobacco is not very far behind. The crime caused by "illegal" drugs is caused because the drugs are illegal, very expensive, unregulated and impure. All drugs should be legalized and taxed to fund treatment and antidrug education. Serious poisons should be registered, but otherwise, drugs should be sold at the pharmacy. We strongly support decriminalizing personal drug use.
