Camp Hill State Prison. We've been together since we were fifteen years old. We both happened to dabble in drugs a little too much. How he's sitting "up-state" for parole violations (hot urines) when he should probably still be in the county jail or in rehab somewhere.
I also have drug and theft charges, but, because my stepfather is a lawyer, I never had to do more than two weeks in county jail. On top of that, every time I violated my probation, I got sent to rehab.
The sad truth about this is that there are countless inmates in state prisons because they are repeat offenders in the county system who were never even offered some kind of help, even once! I guess my point is that if Pennsylvania wants to get rid of the supply of drugs, they first need to get rid of the demand. Criminals without the "pull" that some fortunate junkies have, should have the same opportunities as the lucky ones.
Today, I'm a "clean" productive member of society because I was given the opportunity to do the next right thing. I truly wish there was something I could do (it's not like Pennsylvania can't afford to put these people through some kind of program before they give them a state sentence.
