Harrisburg is Pennsylvania's capital city. Around the
world it's known as The Unfriendly City. It's a
great place to be out of!
Harrisburg is also the seat of Dauphin County, known as the Alabama of the North. It's a fanatically far right-wing Republican part of the Commonwealth; a good place to be out of! Juan E. Rodriquez died because of the neglect of the Dauphin County jail, or really because of the neglect of the corporate leaches making their profits from prisoners' illnesses. Mr. Rodriquez was a 69 year-old prisoner in the Dauphin County jail. For 47 years he'd been married to Luzde-Ada Rodriquez and he had a loving family. To the Republicans running Dauphin County, the death of Mr. Rodriquez was a very trivial matter. First of all, he couldn't even speak English, the God-Ordained holy language. He had the temerity to have been born in the part of the United States called Puerto Rico. To Republicans being born in the American colony made Mr. Rodriquez little better that an illegal alien. The second thing against the prisoner was that he was accused of sexually molesting child. what could be worse that that? (Almost everything! Child molesting has become a witch-hunt mania.) Juan Rodriquez fell ill. He begged for medical help. A corporation called Prime Care neglected him. After days he was taken to the hospital. He died. We wonder how much profit Prime Care made by letting the prisoner die.
