Prisons for Children
By: Rebecca

Pennsylvania is unable to cope with its children. The people aren't smart enough to figure out how to teach them and manage them. The schools are failures in education. They serve only as hives of violence, disease and misery. The children suffer. The society suffers.

And Pennsylvania admits its failure by imprisoning hundreds of our children. Most are Afro-American, almost all are boys. By 18 years-old, they're ready to be discarded by their society.

In Pennsylvania there's always the profit motive behind much imprisonment. The Abraxas Group profits from imprisoning children and, of course, there are always the many jobs for the jailers.

We think that many of these children could be saved instead of being sacrificed to the adults' inability to cope.

The biggest and most vicious children's prison is operated by the Department of Imprisonment.
