STRIKES DOWN 1st and 14th AMENDMENTS

By: Jesse Baker

I ordered several adult magazines from paperwings last year. All were denied. I grieved all the way to Central Office.

At the moment, I am in the process of filing a 1983 suit (class action) for all of Pennsylvania's D.O.C. inmates (40,000+) as well as myself. I am challenging the DC ADM 803 policy. S.C.I. Smithfield tends to exaggerate its policy beyond the legality of their authority. The 1st amendment and the 14th amendment is something we inmates still have left.

These magazines pose no threat to security and therefore banning them serves no penological interest. Furthermore, this policy must be challenged to change these blatent violations of our State and Federal Civil Rights. It is important that we all thake a stand. Ignorance allows a lot to occur.

I urge all paralegals who work in D.O.C. libraries to take interest in your position and school these fellas on how to protect their rights.

Any attorney interested in representing this class action, please contact me at:
