I'll be glad to write about my native American experiences.
The native American programs with the Circle and the culture classes are a joke within the Pennsylvania prison system. Now that they moved me here to SCI-Forest, the Native American Circle here is only once a month...if the spiritual advisor even shows up at all. I hear that the Circle here is run by "Findians" (fake ass Indians). They make newcomers sit outside the Circle and don't allow them to smudge or pray until the others deem you worthy. This I hear goes on for three weeks. That is not the Native American way. You know once I see this with my own eyes I'll be filing paperwork. Yes, I'll make a huge stink over it and the lack of Native American activities.
The Native Americans took these Blacks in, treated them like family and even allowed some of them to marry their own native women. That's why there are Black Indians such as the Freeman that were just recently kicked out of the tribe. Blacks should honor and respect the Native Americans for what they have done for the Black race in America. Not only that, but the Native Americans suffered a hell of a lot more at the hands of the Whites than the blacks ever did.
The more I continue to learn, the more it effects me in an emotional way. The Red Road is not a religion. It's just our way of life. We live it. We don't preach it. I always loathed jailhouse religion because that's where the predators tend to hide with a Bible in their hand, like its going to protect them once they're found out. Then you got those who never read a Bible or went to church a day in their life and now they're Jesus-freaks. I have no respect for them. I myself went to Sunday school when I was a kid. I used to go attend church with my grandmother until I was 13 or 14. Because of the lies and BS I saw within the church, I wanted to know the truth. That's what drove me to the ancient texts and writings. Now I know the turth. This is why I chose the Red Road. It changed me when nothing else could. |
