An UpDated Hoecker Album
By: Sandra Feigley,

The famous Karl Hoecker Album has recently been put on display. It contains 116 marvelous snapshots of prison guards taken during the end of 1944. The homey pictures are an affectionate record of the difficult craft of guarding and slaughtering scum-bag prisoners.

The guards in these rare photos were the proud keepers at Auschwitz. It was the renown Nazi concentration camp in Poland. The staff is shown joking and frolicking around the gas chambers and ovens. Even that special medical pioneer, Joe "Killed-15000" Mengele is shown smiling and enjoying the perks of camp life.

It wasn't easy for any of these fine, hard-working prison guards. The constant stench of a thousand rotting corpses and the unseemly groans of the tortured multitudes often curtailed their gaiety. With guard-like fortitude, they managed to struggle through while working at a fever pitch to get rid of hundreds of thousands of nasty prisoners before the Russians vandalized the prison spoiling all the fun by taking away the surviving hundreds of emaciated prisoners.

Prison guards haven't changed much in the intervening 60+ years. Their personality and mentality is still pretty much the same as it was at the concentration camps. Perhaps now they've become bigger pussies and lost some of their facility for outright murder. Prison guards, especially in Pennsylvania, are still vicious, frightened bullies. They would have fit right in at the Polish death-camp.

Seeing Karl Hoecker's charming record of the male and female Auschwitz prison guards, made us realize that it would be great to have a modern update. We'd like a pictorial record of the gaiety of Pennsylvania prison-guarding. We'd like to put together an album of photos of modern prison guards. Please help us gather the charming pictures.

We're looking for photos of the guards at Pennsylvania's Frackville state prison. While that penitentiary can't yet boast a reputation to rival Auschwitz, the staff is very similar. The Frackville prison staff is the least professional in Pennsylvania and, certainly in a class by itself, a truly Nazi-like collection. Please help us by sending any photos that you may have.

We'd like to perpetuate them in the same way that the adjutant of the famous death-camp glorified Doctor Mengele, Rudolf Hoess, Josef Kramer and the other guards. We could easily get photos such as the ID mugshots in Pennsylvania's Department of Imprisonment records, but that wouldn't fairly and accurately depict the guards' personalities. We could also get photos of many Frackville prison guards from the files of local police departments. Many guards have criminal records. Again, police photos wouldn't accurately depict what we're after.

We want Auschwitz-like snapshots, the guards drinking, laughing, socializing and enjoying themselves while prisoners suffer. We want pictures of the guards brawling, harassing, hunting and engaged in the other activities they enjoy so much.

The Frackville prison staff is miserable and neurotic, sick pups. They're more than just unhappy and frightened, they're detached from decent morality. The Frackville prison staff may not be as bright or as brave as their Auschwitz cousins, but they certainly share the same value system; hatred!

While the Hocker Albumis displayed at the depressing US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC, with your kind collaboration, we'll publish our tribute to Frackville guards online. Please send your photos by snail-mail to:

Please help us make our album a tribute worthy of the great guys and gals at Frackville and their tender abuses.
