What will history say about the Pennsylvania and the America of the 1990's? One wonders if our oppressors can't hear the future voices which will judge them.
"It was a sick society, schizophrenic, devouring itself like an insane viper attacking its own belly."
"It was an extremist society, shamefully cruel, torturing itself like a vicious boa strangling itself into grotesquely monstrous forms."
"It was a greedy society, selfish beyond reason, gobbling itself like a jealous vampire leaching itself into delirium."
"It was a frightened society, panicked by imaginary, exaggerated terrors, like as sleepless sheep spying endlessly upon itself."
"It was an age where evil persons were in power doing evil things. Worse, it was an age where fools were in power doing foolish things. The harm done during those fanatic years will take fifty years to heal."
"It was an age of the unsound minds and emotions of fanatics. And, typical of that ilk, they didn't even realize what they were doing. Religious and social control freaks were a dark fog poisoning reason. Political and social gluttons accumulated extravagant excess of power and wealth simply to keep from having to share with others."
Certainly America has an ugly history and an uglier record of social injustice. The age of the 1990's is an exaggeration of the worst elements of social and political injustice. This is a surreal time of bizarrely irrational tides of hatred. It is a period of acute social stress which shatters the people into hostile camps of irreconcilable animosities. The crazies are imposing their nightmare world upon a reality which alienates them. God help us!
