Near Somerset in southwestern Pennsylvania, the Department of Corrections ("DOC") has one of its 25 prisons. It's the death camp at Laurel Highlands. There are about 300 prisoners there waiting to die, mostly from neglect.
On Saturday Francisco Diez died. He was 67. ALthough he was 4 years over his minimum sentence the Parole Board had failed to parole him. In effect the Parole Board sentenced him to death. Who needs a judge or jury? In the Ridge Reich corrupt nobles rule. On Thursday James Oliver died. He was only 48. Pennsylvania prisons are very unhealthful, very dangerous places and nobody cares, certainly not Governor Ridge or Ridge's Health Department. Mister Oliver was also over his minimum sentence. Like Mister Diez, the Parole Board had sentenced him to suffer a slow, lingering, torturous death. That's what you're paying them to do. On Wednesday William Stow died. He was 71. What's a 71year-old man doing in prison? He accidentally killed someone with his car. On Tuesday Cornelius Thomas died. He was 60 years old. Like others, he was way over his minimum sentence for assault and the Parole Board had sentenced him to lingering death. How did that help you? How did that help our society? On Sunday William Lumm died. He was 67. Are you getting the picture? All these deaths are in one prison. All of these deaths are out of a population of about 300 men! The prison system is full of disease and safety problems. It is overflowing with dangers. One of our correspondents wrote to Dan Hoffmann. He's supposed to be the Secretary of Health for the Ridge Reich. Our correspondent asked the Department of Health to look into the serious health and safety risks in prison, the disease and air pollution, the neglect which causes death. The Department of Health brushed him off. The Ridge Reich doesn't care enough even to look into prison safety and health. The Department of Health doesn't even care enough to advise prisons about what's unhealthful; like toxic chemicals, toxic dust, toxic paints, forced labor without any safety protection! So, come Saturday, Arthur Watkins died. He was 52; death by torment. Do you think the Department of Health cares about prisoners falling out left and right? It sent our correspondent's request for help to the DOC lawyers, not a gang known for its humanity. On Friday Alfred A. Caldarelli died. He was 61 years old and over his minimum sentence. He was from York, Pennsylvania, the Alabama of the North. Maybe you wonder why Mister Caldarelli was allowed to die: playing with some pussy! Yeah, while the Prez was diddling the hairy-clam in the White House pantry (more power to him), Alfred A. Caldarelli was dying for the nasty crime of "indecent assault!" Has everyone in this society lost their grip? On Sunday James Hughes died. Hew as a mere 39 years old. His crime? Assault. The Superintendent of the prison, Frederic Rosemeyer, said that the death was of "natural causes!" Is neglect "natural?" Is our callous Health Department "natural?" Is there anything about Governor Thomas "Death Warrant" Ridge that can be called "natural?" I could go on listing the dead for an hour. You get the point: Ridge doesn't care, the prison system doesn't care, not even the Health Department cares. How about YOU, do you care? |
