America's BOOM!
In the Hate Industry

By: Tyler Polk

Sadly, the American empire hasn't endured very long. As a culture and a country we're rapidly declining if not actually dying. The only American industry which is really flourishing is hatred. We aren't the land of the free. We certainly aren't the land of the brave, not even the land of the rational. We've become the land of hatred, the land of intolerance, the land of exploitation and the land of mindless greed.

By it's very nature, religion is a doctrine of hate, intolerance and division; not just Christianity, but also Islam and Judaism, all the mythologies which divide humans into competing camps of nonsense.

America has fallen into the grasp of the preachers, not just the religious crazies, although, God knows, we have more than our fair share of that destructive disease. Just as detrimental as the religious crackpots are their bastards, the madmen preachers of the media. They are the O'Rabid, Beck, Dobbs, FOX "News," Grace, Murdock and kin. They farm hatred as a commodity of their evil conservative ethics. Hatred is the very soul of the American conservative. Conservatives do harm.

Big business, especially big oil, big corporations and greed have destroyed America. America is a taker, a destroyer, a glutton, a killer. Even the relentless rape of the vast continent, and, indeed of the world, can't sustain the American lust for destruction. To feed corporate addiction to money, almost everything has been "out-sourced" to the developing world where workers can be more easily cheated and exploited. What's left for America is the nest of hatred, a boiling stew of fetid religious and social bigotry.

I hold out no hope for America. Conservative greed and religious silliness are too cancerous. But another nation will likely replace us (if we don't finish off the planet). Perhaps the next generation will be wiser, more rational and more tolerant. The male mania for competition has failed. It's time that the female penchant for cooperation is allowed to succeed; create instead of destroy.
