This "SMU" ["Special Management unit"], prison code for torture dungeon - Editor] is supposed to be a program, but, in all actuality, it's a warehouse slash concentration camp. Personally, I was physically assaulted earlier this year after having heated words with an officer ["officer," prison code for one of the 15,000 publicly paid thug guards employed in the Pennsylvania prisons. - Editor]. Shortly afterwards, my cell door popped open. This is a special security unit and the doors simply never open except when guards are at the cell. I, in turn chased the guard away from my cell when he appeared. I was then jumped by another guard. When they recalled that they were on camera, the 2 guards along with 4 or so more, guards, including a lieutenant and a sergeant who have since been removed from this post, took me into an empty cell [where they were out of view of the security cameras - Editor]. They beat me down really bad. I suffered a split chin resulting in several stiches. My tooth was knocked out. Needless to say, an investigation took place. The administration covered the whole incident up. There's more to this and hopefully, we'll get to talk. [The prison administration would not admit our reported. - Editor]. My problem is not even a quarter of what's been happening here. From June 19th to January 11, they literally starved me almost to death. They refused me breakfast, lunch and dinner for 22 days straight. They tried to make it seem like I was on a hunger strike. On August 1, several guards including a sergeant, jumped me and another inmate named Dament Hagens while he was handcuffer. This year alone, there have been several beatings and deprivations. Presently, the staff is falsifying documents to make it appear as if we are participating in the program. what I meant by that is that there are 22 inmates in the program. Out of the 22 inmates 16 are disciplinary custody [cases] in Phase 5. Out of the 16 Phase 5 inmates, 10 refused to participate in the program, me being one of the ten. By 10 not participating, the staff knows that the program is a failure. They are trying to force us to participate against our wills. Because we won't submit, they are falsifying our housing unit reports making it look like we are participating. Truth is, none of us are. We are just sitting here 24 hours a day in our cells; no yard recreation, no showers or anything. I haven't been outside in close to a year. Inmates are actually scared to come out of their cells! To say that I'm alright is a false statement. I've been here for 25 months on Phase 5. There's been no progress. After 2 years, an inmate is considered to be an SMU failure. They have not applied this in my situation. [I'll be able to provide names.] Each inmate has had a problem physically and has even been deprived of basic human needs. We're starving here! These are racist oppressors.
