All that "land of the free" crap is a lie. Twenty five percent, that's one out of ever four prisoners in the world is in an American prison. No nation on earth locks up as many of its citizens as the United States. We've got five persons in prison for every one person in a European prison. An American is four times as likely to be a prisoner as a citizen of Canada or Mexico. Half of all American Hispanics and more than half of all American Blacks, are, have been or will be prisoners. That's not a matter of crime, its a matter of culture. John Handcock wasn't a smuggler. He was a patriot. George Washington wasn't a bootlegger, he was a patriot. But Pete Colon isn't an entrepreneur, he's a pusher. We're a nation of hypocrisy. Every single citizen of America knows or is related to a prisoner if he or she isn't, hasn't been or won't be a prisoner himself/herself. Prison is a poison which has seeped into every life. All that "home of the brave" crap is a lie. America is a nation of pussies, a micro-regulated society where risk is such a boogeyman that there are laws upon laws and punishments upon punishments to supposedly eliminate risk. Life is fraught with risk. That's one of the things which makes it an intriguing adventure. That's what bravery and freedom are all about. Why does the most technically advanced and affluent nation in the world imprison and enslave so many of it's people? It's a kind of morbid madness; self-destroying madness. Are we all nuts? We are a nation of imprisonment. Some of us are behind bars, others are imprisoned by the mania of fear. It won't be long before the whole country is a prison; all of us prisoners. All that "let liberty ring" crap is a lie. We want to spy and snoop on our neighbors, regulate what they are doing, pry into their desires and conduct, search their computers and luggage. In the lust to "prevent" naughtiness we have become an evil culture. Poor, demented Ronny Reagan used to talk about the "Evil-Empire." It's us, the Land of the Imprisoned.
