AS the name implies, Forest County, Pennsylvania is a wilderness in the northwestern part of the state. It has more elk than people. The whole county is less than 4900 persons, about 3 families per square mile, virtually all white. But the Republicans have a plan! Most of the Forest County families are ex-loggers and rabid Republicans, gready for more money and less toil now that they've ravaged the forests and wrecked the ecology. And trust the Republicans to have a plan! Republicans have a plan for wild Forest County; a way to dump a fortune in red-neck welfare into their districts: a prison! Screw the wilderness. Screw the ecology. With Republicans, it's all about money. Republican state Senator William "Bucks-Bill" Slocum and Republican state Representative James "Forest-Killer" Lynch, want to import prisoners, mostly black and Hispanic from Philadelphia and other distant big cities. The forced relocation would isolate the prisoners from their families, but it will be BIG MONEY for the Republican area; welfare for the rural red-necks. The Republican scheme is to replace the trees with over 2000 exploited prisoners. How much money would the scheme funnel into the Republican heartland? Well, Republican Governor Tom "Please Let Me Play Vice President" Ridge has already flooded in $126,000,000.00 to build the prison. That's $26,000.00 a head for each citizen in the county pretty good welfare if you ask me! But that's only the start. The Republicans want an annual budget of $50,000,000.00 and a thousand "jobs." That's about half the adult population of the county. Aren't Republicans wonderful! "Forest Killer" Lynch is quoted as saying: "You just can't turn down those kinds of jobs. GM isn't going to build a 1000 employee plant, but the 1000 employee potential for a prison [for Black folks] in Forest County could bring in an annual payroll exceeding $50,000,000.00." Most of the tax money would be sucked out of the big cities like Philadelphia. I did the math, 1000 jobs for $50,000,000.00 is $50,000.00 per "job!" Now that's great welfare! It's the new slavery, exploit the minorities to profit the white Republicans. This will be prison number 26 for Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania imprisons more of its citizens than Russia does. It's all part of the Republican scheme! Aren't Republicans swell!
