Prisoner Eric Brown was viciously beaten and seriously
injured by other prisoners at the infamous Camp Hill state prison,
also called Camp Hell, in Central
Pennsylvania. It was not an ordinary fight between prisoners.
As often happens guards put the prisoners
up to beating Mister Brown. Apparently their real goal was
to have him murdered.
Pennsylvania prison guards are violent, unscrupulous thugs. As the rest of this story will show, Pennsylvania prison guards are as bad as any street gang. They are dangerous, unethical and cruel. Avoid them! Before Eric Brown was beaten and injured D. Lee Martin found out about the scheme. He was also a guard, but not one involved in the original plot to kill or harm Mr. Brown. Guard Martin failed to protect the prisoner. He failed to prevent the beating or to stop it. Guard Martin did nothing and so, the prisoner was seriously injured. Why did guard Martin fail to act? He was afraid! He knew, as we know, that his fellow guards are violently dangerous. He was afraid they would retaliate against him. It was a justified fear. Guards are bad people who do bad things. Many beat prisoners. Many beat one another. Many force one prisoner to injure another. After all, many of them are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. Like any organized criminal endeavors, Pennsylvania prison guards have a mob to protect and defend them from having to be be responsible for their crimes. The Pennsylvania Correctional Officers Association which fronts as a labor union, is the guards' cover organization. It does its best to hide the evil acts of its 10,500 guard members and to hide what they really do.
