A high profile scandal from a prominent southern university points out what we have often said. False charges of rape and sexual assault are very common. Women lie. They lie for many reasons and for no reason at all, just to cause trouble or to get attention. Women will charge men with rape for profit, for revenge, for pure devilment, because they're bored. A woman's charges of rape should never be accepted at face value. That's especially true where the accusations come from, girls and young women. Almost all charges of rape are false. At best they are exaggerated. Where there's a charge of rape, pretend the "victim" is male and the putative assailant is a woman. Investigate the charge from that point of view. Be skeptical. Think of the women you know. Think of the girls you know. Do they lie? Rape is rare. Defending against the many false accusations is almost impossible. Women are untrustworthy. A false accusation of rape should result in the same punishment that the man would have received if he were guilty.
