Like the two bit Bic lighters, people in our society have become disposable. We no longer repair people or recycle them or rehabilitate them. They are simply discarded.

Perhaps it's because there's such a huge overpopulation of people now and individuals have become worthless. There's no value for a single life (unless it might be the mania for infant's lives). Whatever the cause, this culture assigns no value to individuals, at least not to men. If they are found faulty or defective or wanting, they are tossed away.

We recycle garbage but not people. If a man is found to be defected, a "criminal" or a "prisoner," we never let him be any thing else. He's discarded.

People have value. We must recycle and repair them. We must rehabilitate and refurbish them.
