We very seldom have anything good to say about a person who sinks to becoming a prison guard. We make an exception for a young man from Wilkes-Barre, Keith Ciavarella. He was forced to quit from the Lucerne County Jail because he treated prisoners like human beings and friends. His mistake was to think that even prisoners deserve respect and consideration.
We wish him well and we shame his prison bosses.
