We publish this true story as a warning to prisoners and all Pennsylvanians. Although we invite prisoners to contribute material, and we welcome it, everyone should be cautioned about what may be expected from the Department of Corrections and its minions.
By writing for us, and apparently for others, too, you run the real risk that you will be the victim of retaliation. Yes, there's a First Amendment, and yes it says that you have a right to write and say whatever you think. Yes, it's supposed to be one of America's most treasured rights.
But this is the age of Ridge and his mania for mind control. Your right of Free Speech doesn't mean much in Pennsylvania nowadays, especially if you happen to be a prisoner.
