T-Netix Is a Rip-Off
By: Cindy Bee

.
I've been in communication for over a year with my daughter who phones from prison. We talk almost daily. Our calls have been disconnected for no reason so many times I've lost count. Most of the time she doesn't have a chance to call back.

The phones at the Birmingham Work Release for women are all outside. She has to deal with heat, cold, bugs, rain, etc., so we're sometimes limited as it is. I've never been late with a payment to T-Netix [the Texas outfit operating the rip-off system], but I've had my phone "blocked" many times. I've spent HOURS waiting to get help to unblock the phone. It's happened many, many times. Now these people are demanding that I buy a number with a monthly fee and more charges.

What a frustrating rip-off T-Netix is!

Is there a group, any attorney assigned to a class action suit? Is anyone trying to right this wrong? Where are the legislators and regulators?
