In America and especially in Pennsylvania, it's dangerous being
an African-American. Blacks, particularly black men, get murdered
at an alarmingly high rate. Afro-Americans are murdered ten
times more often than whites. Almost all the killers are
other blacks, mostly young black men.
Philadelphia is the nation's killing fields for black men. Afro-American men kill one another in Philadelphia like no place else outside of the African civil wars. It almost amounts to a genocidal suicide. It's a mystery why blacks hate themselves so intensely. In Pennsylvania there are about 30 black murders per 100,000 population. For comparison, there are about 3 murders of whites per 100,000. The great majority of the killers (of both blacks and whites) are young black men with guns. Louisiana, Indiana, California and Missouri also have high murder rates for Afro-Americans, but not as high as Pennsylvania. Outside Philadelphia, most black killings occur in New Orleans, Los Angeles and Saint Louis. Life appears to have little value to many black men. That's true of their own lives and the lives of others. It's a dangerous cultural standard. If there were far fewer guns, there would be far fewer murders. The Violence Policy Center which reported the statistics we've used, supports gun control. So do we. There are many too many guns in the United States. Disarm everybody including cops. The more perplexing problem is how to adjust a cultural addiction to murder.
