Bush is probably not demented or insane like Reagan was. Bush is dumb as a shoelace. He will blunder and "go postal," but he lacks even his father's natural evil. He's a drunk, a drug addict, a criminal, a convict and a killer, but he has such limited capacities that he can't be nearly as bad as he'd like to be.
Bush will promote things which harm and kill, chemicals, drugs, alcohol, guns, war, pollution, tobacco, the most destructive things in the national psyche. He's testosterone turned rancid. His worst aspects will be the hundreds he'll kill and the profoundly evil judges he'll put on the bench, the gouged profits he'll give to his oil buddies.
With Bush there will be troops in the streets, oppression of disfavored groups, oppression of unpopular points of view, wars and military adventures. The Economy will crash. Republicans know how to exploit the poor, how to make a profit for themselves (big business) on the backs and toil of the underclasses, but they haven't a clue how to run a national economy; they've always bungled it. Under Bush the economy will implode as it did under Papa Bush, Reagan, Nixon and Ford. Expect prices and inflation to rise dramatically while the stock market shrinks.
Bush is regressive and backwards looking. He will take things back to the 1980s, or, if possible, pull a Reagan and take us back to the 1950s or better yet, the 1930s. Republicans can't progress. It frightens them. They can't cope with change. It might result in them losing the money, power and positions they've stolen.
Bush is more than a dimwitted bumbler. He's ignorant and badly educated. The USA is a world power, but Bush is very limited. Unless foreign affairs involves killing people, Bush will be at a lose to manage it even if he's not drunk.
He made a big deal of appointing Uncle Tom Powell as Secretary of State, but Powell was never a good general. He was always an opportunist, but officiant politician, officious, self obsessed and lucky, generally speaking, a pliable token for the powerful persons who manipulate him. Powell can't run foreign policy any better than he ran the army.
What a criminal politician can get away with in Texas is a lot different from what he can get away with in the rest of the world. Texas is, after all, the Afghanistan of America. In civilized places like Europe and Russia, rule by terror and abuse has limited value. How's he going to cope with Ireland, Palestine, the Balkans, Korea, China or Eritrea? Does he even know where Africa is or if there's really a nation of Kazak or Kiribati?
Bush likes to kill. It's simple and what he understands best, killing, execution and pain. The scandals under a Bush regime won't be personal, private or sexual, but abuses of power, corruption, avarice and malfeasance. Sexual scandals require real men, Kennedy, Clinton, Cleveland. Bush is a president on Viagra. His gun is the kind you keep in a holster, not in your pants; not blow-job, but blow-up, not fuck, but fuck-up!
By stealing many millions from many ordinary people during the 1980s, Papa Doc Bush bought his sons two of the nicest states that the looted savings and loan industry could afford. Baby Doc Bush is as ruthless as his father, but not nearly as smart.
He'll be bad, but not as bad as Nixon or Reagan, something about on the order of Benjamin Harrison on cocaine or Herbert Hoover on moonshine. Most of us will manage to survive him.
In Pennsylvania, we must be much more concerned about getting conservatives out of the state government and preventing extremists like Mike Fisher and Jeffrey Piccola from getting more power.
Some persons have been protesting that George W. "Baby Doc" Bush may end up being the worst president America has ever endured. That's pure hyperbole. To be truly "bad" a president must be evil like Reagan was and clever and devious like Nixon was. Bush will be bad, but not as extremely bad as some partisans expect; he simply too stupid.
