Hamlet's Cops Busted
By: T.S. Evaline

Avoca is a little burg not far from Wilkes-Barre (or Wilkes Barre) in Northeastern Pennsylvania. There were only 2 cops on their police force, a "chief" and a "sergeant." There were a couple part-timers, too. They didn't count.

There was a lot of trouble with the micro-police force. Then in stormed the Pennsylvania state cops, not a bunch known for squeaky cleanness themselves. They busted both the regular cops. "Chief" Edward Lukowich was charged with official oppression, criminal conspiracy and beating a prisoner into making a false confession. He also got an unsworn falsification to authorities beef for lying about sending dope to the state cop crime lab. He apparently sold it, but didn't get a drug charge.

"Sergeant" Jerome Kudajaski got the same charges. In addition, he was charged with stealing over $1000 from the evidence room. Neither cop was held. They were released on their own recognizance. In Pennsylvania cops, even crooked ones get special privileges that you and I can't expect from the courts.

There's nothing strange about crook-cops. Most Pennsylvania cops are really criminals.
