Why I Moved Away From Warren
By: Anonymous

I moved away from Warren in 1992. I see I'm not alone in how I feel. Here are my reasons and even some thoughts to ponder. I'll finish with how things turned out for me elsewhere.

Applied for a job at Lorangers, was grilled as to how I would respond to questions about the owners, found out they are out of business now.

Applied at Blair, never even got a call saying, "sorry, but no." Found out from workers there that it's like working in slavery. Have you ever watched the current workers run when they're let loose each day? Sometimes I get a Blair mailer. It usually helps start fires in the winter. Thanks.

Tried to find a job at the employment office. They said that someone like me should move away. Great advice. Also, this proves some of the stupid things I see in the news about Warren.

The bridge falls into the river, bUT a fancy park has been bUilt next to it to help watch the stupidity. I look at the park with their webcam. Never see anyone there. Why not use the money to get to the hospital quicker if you are possibly bleeding to death?

Find out that they want to build businesses and employ people. Oops, someone isn't making millions of dollars off the venture so lets screw that up now. Imagine, a business area is actually bringing business into Warren. Oops, lets continue to go up to Jamestown, New York.

Lets continue to fight development of the dam, tailwaters and river. Tourism doesn't mean anything...

After I left Warren, I got a great job, was paid well and have lots to do. The people here don't always make the right decisions, but at least they're open to trying. Lots of stuff I see still makes no sense. Some people think about the future. It's too late for me, but possibly someone would see the effort and move back.
