One thing which astonishes many investigators is how many very talented persons are in prison. Some of the most talented musicians, artists, writers and craftsmen in the nation are in our prisons. Many of these persons are self-taught and almost all of them are unrecognized and unsung. We have tried to give a few of them a little notice and a place to be seen. We're even working on a way to present some prisoner musical compositions and performances. Perhaps you could help. In one sense the greatest prisoner accomplishment is simply surviving prison. That is especially the case for those rare women and men who survive prison without losing their sanity and dignity. Five years in prison is an almost certain prescription for madness or for such deeply embedded rage and resentment that a person can never recover in society. Although many prisoners have accomplished a great many things both large and small, we present only a very short list.
